On this second National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, HCF wishes to share the story about our new Endowment Fund, 215 Moccasins. Last Sept 30th Georgia Taillieu generously donated $5000 to establish this fund in support of the preservation and understanding of Indigenous culture, history and languages. Since then Georgia has searched for local nonprofits with missions that match the new fund’s goals. We are happy to report that two such Headingley groups have been identified: the Akiing Onji Foundation (AOF) and Phoenix Elementary School. Today we are proud to announce that our 215 Moccasins Fund has awarded two grants of $215 each to support these worthy organizations. Many thanks to Georgia for her dedication to HCF and setting up a fund that will continue to support the preservation and understanding of Indigenous culture, history and languages for years to come.
